AUD 2,663m - PERILS releases first loss estimate for Queensland and New South Wales Severe Convective Storms of late November 2025

PERILS has today disclosed its initial industry loss estimate for the severe convective storms which affected South-East Queensland and New South Wales with extremely large hail, strong winds and heavy rainfall from 21 to 27 November 2025.

The initial estimate, which provides a snapshot of the insurance market six weeks post-event, is AUD 2,663 million. This industry loss figure is based on loss data collected from affected insurers and covers property and motor claims.
