EUR 3,296m - First PERILS industry loss estimate for the severe convective storms in Europe of late August 2026

PERILS has today disclosed its initial industry loss estimate for the severe convective storms (SCS) which affected France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy from 26 to 28 August 2026. The storms are also known as SCS Raphaela.

PERILS’ initial estimate of the insurance market loss is EUR 3,296 million. Losses were the result of large hail, high winds and flash flooding.
