CAD 313m – CatIQ and PERILS release initial industry loss estimate for the Bald Range Fire that occurred in British Columbia in August 2026

CatIQ and PERILS have today disclosed the first industry loss estimate for the Bald Range Fire that affected the Canadian province of British Columbia between 7 and 18 August 2026.

The initial estimate of the insurance market loss is CAD 313 million, with personal property claims making up the majority of the loss.
