AUD 810m - PERILS releases second industry loss estimate for the Victoria Bushfires of January 2026
PERILS has today disclosed its second industry loss estimate for the bushfires which affected the state of Victoria in southeastern Australia from 7 to 13 January 2026.
The second estimate, which provides a snapshot of the insurance market three months post-event, is AUD 810 million. This industry loss figure is based on loss data collected from affected insurers and covers property and motor claims.
