AUD 1,922m - PERILS releases third loss estimate for Cyclone Alfred
PERILS has today disclosed its third loss estimate for Cyclone Alfred. The cyclone affected the Southeast Queensland and Northeast New South Wales regions of Australia with strong winds and intense rainfall from 28 February to 12 March 2025.
In its third loss report, provided in the form of an industry loss footprint at post code resolution, PERILS estimates that the event has cost the insurance industry a total of AUD 1,922 million. This compares to the figure of AUD 2,568 million issued in the first loss report six weeks after the event, and AUD 2,250 million issued in the second loss report three months after the event.
