PERILS has today disclosed its second loss estimate for extratropical windstorm “Nils”, also known as “Ulrike”. The storm affected the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie regions in southwest France from 11 to 13 February 2026.
PERILS’ second estimate, which provides a snapshot of the insurance market loss three months after the event, is EUR 767 million. The majority of the losses were caused by high winds.
