PERILS has today disclosed its third industry loss estimate for the bushfires which affected the state of Victoria in southeastern Australia from 7 to 13 January 2026.
In its third loss report, provided in the form of a detailed industry loss footprint, PERILS estimates that the event has cost the insurance industry a total of AUD 860 million. This industry loss figure is based on loss data collected from affected insurers and covers property and motor claims.
