Our newsletter <<PERILS Inside>> is geared toward the wider stakeholder community of PERILS with the aim to provide a concise update on the latest developments. This publication is produced on a biannual basis.
Key points of Issue N°2/2011 are:
- Expansion of PERILS' coverage to Norway and Sweden
- Transaction statistics: since January 2010 more than USD 3bn of PERILS-based capacity has been placed
- Special section on structured triggers for industry loss-based risk transfer
windstorm Xynthia
Key points of Issue N°1/2011 are:
- EUR 1.32bn: PERILS’ fourth and final loss estimate for windstorm Xynthia
- Recent release of PERILS’ Industry Exposure database 2011
- Inclusion of windstorms Anatol, Lothar, Martin, Jeanett and Kyrill in PERILS’ Industry Loss database
- Transaction statistics, including USD 1.5bn of cat capacity based on PERILS loss index which has been placed between January 2010 and March 2011
Key points of Issue N°2/2010 are:
- PERILS has generated its 3rd loss report for windstorm Xynthia. The 3rd loss report is the first in full resolution (per CRESTA zone and Property Lines of Business)
- PERILS has calculated QIS5 scenario losses for windstorm in Europe using the PERILS 2010 industry exposure. The resulting overall gross property loss for all markets amounts to EUR 36.7bn
- In the first 10 months of 2010, USD 525m of PERILS-triggered windstorm capacity has been placed in the capital and re/insurance markets
Key points of Issue N°1/2010 are:
- more than 60 companies have agreed to provide PERILS with their
exposure and loss data - this results in an overall market coverage in all countries covered
of approx. 50% - on 1 April 2010 the industry exposure database is launched
- on 12 April 2010 PERILS publishes its first industry loss estimate for
windstorm Xynthia
