PERILS has today released its Q2 update of the PERILS EXTENDED industry loss database
PERILS has today released its Q2 update of the PERILS EXTENDED industry loss database. PERILS EXTENDED replaces the former CRESTA CLIX database. It is complementary to PERILS CORE and includes country-level loss data for territories not covered by PERILS CORE.
In the latest update, a total of eight Cat events from the past three years were reviewed. Loss numbers were revised or finalized for 3 events:
Hurricane Otis, Mexico, Oct 2023
Noto Peninsula Mw 7.5 Earthquake, Japan, Jan 2024
Dubai Floods, Apr 2024
It is noteworthy that in the first half of 2025 only one international (non-US) Cat event exceeded
USD 1bn in industry losses, namely Cyclone Alfred in Australia in March 2025.
