PERILS AG has today disclosed its second loss estimate of AUD 1,041m for the flood event which affected northern Queensland, and in particular the city of Townsville, between 26 January and 10 February 2019.
This second estimate compares to the initial loss estimate of AUD 957m which was issued by PERILS on 15 March 2019. In line with the PERILS event definition, the PERILS loss number covers the Property line of business only.

An updated estimate of the market loss for the Townsville Flood will be made available on 12 August 2019, six months after the event. The loss information in this third and following reports will be provided by postcode and Property lines of business.
