PERILS has today disclosed its second loss estimate for extratropical windstorm “Ciarán”, also known as “Emir”. The storm affected France, Belgium, the United Kingdom as well as the Netherlands from 1 to 2 November 2023.
PERILS’ updated estimate of the insurance market loss is EUR 1,937 million with the majority related to wind losses in France. The PERILS industry loss figure is based on loss data collected from affected insurers and covers the property line of business.
