CAD 563 m – CatIQ and PERILS release initial industry loss estimate for September severe storm outbreak in Ontario

CatIQ and PERILS have today disclosed the initial industry loss estimate for the severe thunderstorm event that affected southern Ontario on 2 and 3 September 2026.

The first estimate of the insurance market loss is CAD 563 million. Losses were the result of strong winds, large hail, and flash flooding.
