ILW Indices
The PERILS Industry Loss Index Service provides index values for Industry Loss Warranties (ILW) transactions. The underlying data for the index is collected directly from insurance companies underwriting property business in the affected areas and is processed using a standardized procedure to estimate industry-wide insured losses. This then forms the basis of the PERILS index to be used for the ILW. Index values are generally made available after six weeks of the event, with updates after three, six, and twelve months; after which PERILS will declare the closing of the index value reporting unless there are substantial grounds to produce additional updates.
Indices for ILW transactions are available for the following territories and perils:
| Covered Perils | Windstorm and ensuing perils |
| Covered Territories | Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom. |
| Line of Business | Property Insurance, split into Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural |
| Reporting Schedule | First index value report latest six weeks after the event, updated after three, six and twelve months. Subsequent reports only if deemed necessary. Reporting closed in any case after 36 months. |
